The Problem

This large curved staircase starts in the main thoroughfare from the front door to the rest of the house. Convenient for normal stair users but some thought was required here to ensure the stairlift didn’t get in the way!

The Solution

Regular readers of these blogs will know that curved stairlift rails, unlike straight ones, are a bespoke made to measure item. This gives more choice and flexibility of design. So in conjunction with the stairlift user we find a solution that works with the user’s mobility, is safe and also keeps the thoroughfare clear.

We love the adaptable nature of the Otolift Air with its very small rail. Here we have started with a 180 degree wrapped start. This means the user can sit and stand in the quiet area by the side of the stairs and then ascend the stairs on the inside of the staircase. The seat is out of the way for others and the thin rail design means that there is little inconvenience for others using the stairs.

Another happy satisfied customer with a quality stairlift supplied with a comprehensive 24 month Guarantee and a free service after 12 months.

Lead times are improving on these bespoke rails now as well. From deciding to go ahead to installation can now usually be in 3-4 weeks. The made to measure rail design is worth waiting for.
