Norfolk Stairlifts have recently installed a Handicare Freelift Stairlift in Dereham, Norfolk on this tricky staircase.
A doorway at the bottom of the stairs always requires careful consideration to ensure safe clearance. The Freelift curved stairlift from Norfolk Stairlifts is fitted with the “Turn & Go” feature. This enables the stairlift to turn to fit through the narrow doorway with the stairlift low enough to pass through without any risk of the user hitting her head on the door frame.
The photo survey equipment used by Norfolk stairlifts means that a feasibility check can be performed in the users home and confirmation of a safe fit provided there and then.

We are also able to demonstrate what the stairlift will actually look like in the home by using augmented reality. This shows a video of the stairlift travelling up and down the actual staircase and easily shows to the user how it will move and park before it is installed.
The Handicare Freelift Stairlift supplied by Norfolk Stairlifts is a low cost single rail stairlift that is suitable for most curved staircases.
This Handicare Freelift Stairlift, from Norfolk Stairlifts is available in three seat types; Classic, Elegance and Alliance. There is also a choice of colours available for the leatherette covering.
Norfolk Stairlifts give a two year guarantee on new stairlifts. This guarantee offers great peace of mind to the owner as it covers callouts, parts and labour everyday of the year up till 10pm.
The Stairlift is also serviced after the first year at no extra expense to the purchaser.
Dereham has been involved in both the First and Second World Wars but also notably in the Napoleonic Conflict. In the late 1700s Dereham church’s bell tower was used as a prison for French prisoners of war being transferred from Great Yarmouth to Norman Cross under the charge of the East Norfolk Militia. On 6 October 1799 a French officer, Jean de Narde, managed to escape from the tower and, being unable to escape from the church yard due to guards being present, hid in a tree. The Frenchman was spotted and shot when he refused to come down and surrender.[9] Jean is buried in the church yard, and his grave is marked by a memorial stone erected in 1858, which includes the following statement: “Once our foes but now our allies and brethren.”[10] This story is told in the documentary, “Once our Foe – The shooting of Jean DeNarde”
