Beginning on 15th September, our Managing Director – Sam – alongside friends, Doug and Steve will be embarking on the gruelling 49 mile trek along the famous Peddars Way.
Those familiar with Peddars Way may know there are two ways to complete the trail; either with pitstops/accommodation breaks, where hikers will break the walk into sections and head to prebooked accommodation for the evenings, a relative luxury. The alternative is to complete the challenge entirely unsupported. This is how Sam, Doug and Steve (Team SDS) will be completing the long distance trail. Carrying all of their own support gear – upwards of 12kg in equipment and supplies, per person – Team SDS will be completing the distance over the course of 2 nights and 2.5 days.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is a cause particularly close to the heart of one of our participants, Steve. Before her passing, Steve’s nan was rescued by the EAAA after sustaining a badly broken ankle. Right up until her final days, Daphne was a firm supporter of the EAAA and this challenge is being completed in her memory.
Providing coverage across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by air and road, the EAAA Charity need our continued support. Head over to the EAAA website to find out more about this amazing charity.
As the lead sponsor of this stellar fundraising challenge, Norfolk Stairlifts are thrilled to get the donation ball off and rolling with a commitment of £365, a pound for every day of the year that the EAAA provide their incredible service.
